About

Michelle van der Plas is a passionate cinematographer based in Utrecht in the Netherlands. Although she loves working in the Netherlands, she also seeks opportunities to shoot films all over the world.

Michelle graduated as a Director of Photography from the HKU (Utrecht University of the Arts) in 2023. Since then, Michelle shoots documentaries, narrative films and commercials. 

'With my curious vision as a cinematographer, I pursue to get closer to the characters of each film, which I then translate to movements, light and composition, deepening the layers of the stories told. Working with metaphors and a minimalistic cinematic style, I help the viewer to focus on the message of the film.'
